Cigarettes

Cigarettes, originally uploaded by JSchizz.

So on the same day that I saw the graffiti gracing the walls of the Movie Gallery, I went for a long leisurely walk around town. I was feeling a bit cooped up, so I grabbed my camera, my mp3 player and headphones and headed out the door. (Really I had to walk to the mailbox to drop off my Blockbuster movie...) As I usually end up on my walks, I made my way towards the waterfront. It's a quite large river, which I would never step foot into, but is a great place to go sit and enjoy the tiny piece of "rural-ness" left. So, somehow, whenever I go out with headphones on, I end up viewing everything differently than if I had done so in silence. I really started noticing things, such as the graffiti, and lots, and lots of garbage. Why is it so easy for people to just toss garbage to the ground when trash cans are so readily available?

Oh, and I've just started using Flickr to add my photos here, but the "blog this" button only applies to one picture at a time. How can I get more than one picture in the blog without writing out the HTML myself? Thanks guys. :D

Only problem is, you've got a great eye with your photograph, so the cigarette butts look poignant somehow instead of disgusting!

You need to take "bad photography" lessons from Crabby. (Not that she even tries to take photos anymore--she just uses other peoples.)

Hahaha, thanks Crabby! I'm pretty dissapointed that my foot ended up in the picture though... I took about 5 versions of this shot and this is the only one that didn't come out crooked. So, I've got my own "bad photography" lessons that I teach myself. =)

Hi Jessica! Thanks for checking out my blog! Do you go to UMaine? My husband and I both did. We're moving back to Southern Maine in December and can't wait!

Love the picture!
